Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez (born Sara Ramirez) is Sara Ramirez (born Sara Ramirez) is a Mexican American performer, singer and actress. Sara Ramirez was raised with her American mother. She encountered a number of racial slurs that led her to feel unwelcome. In her 9th grade that she gained confidence after receiving a rousing ovation during an audition. This not only increased the confidence of her, but also changed the direction she pursued in her professional career. In 1992, she received her diploma from the New York's Julliard School. In 1993, she had her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was You've Got Mail. In the Broadway version of the original show Spamalot She played the Lady of The Lake and won both the Tony Award as well as critical praise. In the following year she was cast in the role of Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gaining wider fame. Apart from being an acclaimed singer she has released two solo albums and an extended piece. She also works as a LGBT activist.
