Perry was born on the 25th of July 1968 in Chicago In Illinois, she was the child of Laurie Metcalf Perry and Jeff Perry. Her first television roles were two appearances as Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) on her role on the ABC sitcom Roseanne as the character played by her mother. But her parents would not permit her to perform until she reached the age of adulthood due to the effects stress would affect their child. Perry was shy during high school and didn't act. Her first acting experience was in the year 2000 at Northwestern University to gain friends as she moved from Boston University. Perry left for New York, where she landed small roles in series such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Home sickiness brought Perry back to California and theater roles were readily available. The Other Place was performed by her and her mother on Broadway in 2013. In 2015, she appeared with Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prizewinning Drama Anna Christie. Odyssey Theatre Ensemble Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. Perry appeared nine times in The Family, an ABC film The Family, in 2016. In 2017, Perry played a supporting role in ABC's political thriller Scandal that starred her father. The actress was also featured on her role on the CBS comedy The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon as a version younger of Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mother. The actress was chosen for the role despite her close relationship with the character's family.
